*RE-POST* This does not directly reflect the opinion of KLASHAA. I will post my opinion. This is an awesome letter and I feel like YOU should read it. This is re-posted for discussion. Thanks, Klashaa
"Mr. Lamborn why do you hate me? I was calling you earlier at your office to ask you personally but you have instructed your staff in both your local district office in Colorado and in Washington, DC, not to answer the phones and leave the voicemail full. I guess you want to wait until this whole things blows over and calms down. Your team of strategists crafted a very savvy response to your gaffe and your apology was right on time. I don't accept it though. If I were to stand in front of a judge after pleading guilty to some heinous indiscretion I don't think he or the court would accept my apology either. Especially if I thought out my egregious offense before hand. I would like to believe that you meant to say something else but I don't. No one goes on radio or TV without being prepped or even without having a direction of where they are going with the conversation and what they want to say. I believe you felt so comfortable amongst your "peers" that you thought your choice of words would go over well with the target audience. Not the case. So again, why do you hate me? I can't figure it out either. I have done nothing to you. It's a weird question, I know, but it seems as though you and your fellow neo-klanservatives have a way of lumping African-Americans into one group. So by spewing your hate-speech towards the President, who is Black, and so am I, I draw the connection that you hate me too. I do Talk-radio also, so as a responsible journalist I have been trying to find ways to justify your actions but I have not been able to. If what you said was an accident, then you, along with many of your counterparts who have made similar comments against the sitting US President, have a deep-rooted entitlement issue that is the foundation of your elite insensitivity and inherent bias. If it was not an accident, then I believe that you, along with many of your counterparts who have made similar comments against the sitting US President, have a deep-rooted entitlement issue that is the foundation of your elite insensitivity and inherent bias. I want to call you a malicious bigot, but I want to believe you know better as a possibly well-educated elected official.
Why can't you accept the fact that your President is a non-white that is worthy of your respect? Why is it that people like you Sean Hannity, Schnitt, Limbaugh, Bachman, Tea partiers and others continue to disrespect the most powerful leader of the free world with a sort of hate rhetoric and vitriol that has never been seen before and can only be attributed to your built-in bias of his ethnic background? So much so that, just today, Pat Buchanan calls your duly elected American President a "boy" on live radio! Even Michael Evans from Good Times told you for years that that was a white racist word when referring to a Black man. Time's Halperin calls him a "dick" on live TV. "Boy," "dick," and "tar baby," said live on major media outlets by presumably esteemed officials and personalities. We have had it up to here.
I think most people from Colorado know that Tar Baby is a flat-out RACIAL SLUR. Its ONLY context is a context of bigotry and hate speak. Many right wingers are not hiding their hoods any more. Racism begets racism and the more they reveal that they hate people of color causes people of color to hate them even more. I have to DEMAND that you step down. This can no longer be tolerated. I didn't go to law school but I'm quite sure that as you all create an atmosphere of hate towards the President and something ever happens to him, you should be tried as co-conspirators. I don't give a damn about Brer Rabbit. There is no literary context for calling a Black person, President or otherwise, a Tar Baby. So is Michelle the 1st Gal? Pickaninny? Is there ever a literary context where I, as an elected official, can publicly refer to you or Speaker Boehner as a 'cracker' and not suffer the consequences for it?
It's good to see some of our most influential voices in hip-hop intelligently speak out against you too. Word to @50cent.Quicksand, sand trap, flypaper, spiderweb...all good choices. Tar Baby, no matter how sublime, is a deliberate and direct reference to color and ethnicity-in America. No matter how you flip it. Of course it refers to a sticky situation that you don't want to touch. By way of American history that sticky situation is called Black folks! There was a time when white people would not touch Black people because they thought they were diseased animals. I will not be fooled by fake dictionary definitions of what you were referencing when you used the phrase Tar Baby. These are the same dictionaries that had evil, bad, and ugly as definitions of "Black" for almost a century. Whether this proves you are a racist is irrelevant. I think you need to relieve yourself of your position in the best interest of the American people for being inappropriate and defaming the character of a sitting US President. What company do you know where you can slander your boss in public and still go to work the next day? If Weiner, and Wu can go for crime-less yet inappropriate actions, then you should go too. Please answer your phone. Or call me when you get in.
Sincerely,
