My experience with Make A Wish foundation and @Tyrese

As many of you know Make A Wish Foundation is a foundation that makes the wishes of kids with life-threatening diseases. I once made a wish and was one of those kids.....

At age 10, I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer. To this day, I have a scar running from mid thigh to the bottom of my knee....a painful reminder of years of chemotherapy treatments and surgeries. I was contacted by the Make A Wish foundation via Children's Hospital in DC (which became my second home) and made my wish. I wanted to be a model in New York for a week.

My family and I were flown to New York and stayed right in Times Square. I had so many suprises in store for me :) I was given spending money for souvenirs, fun, and of course cab fare. I think my second day there, the car service took me to do a shoot for Modern Salon Magazine. I got my hair (well wig...I lost all my hair) ,nails , makeup (thanks Maybelline for the $500 worth of makeup) done. I met another young girl from Israel with lupus who would also be shooting that day.

Over the next couple of days, I met the owner of the prestigious FORD modeling agency and my biggest suprise? They called former FORD model and singer Tyrese to take me to MTV studios where he used to work as a VJ. I was starstruck. I was all of 12 and standing in front of my favorite singer. He was very playful and tried to keep me from being shy :) He gave me advice on boys and was more like a big brother than anything. He actually brought me on the show )I can't remember what it was called) as a special guest. Best day ever!

I want to thank the Make-A-Wish Foundation, FORD Models, and Tyrese for my first taste of the Entertainment Industry :)

Please make sure you donate..this foundation helps kids all across the world with living their dreams. Some kids get to grow up and experience their dreams, but many don't. You can donate here .

Thanks for reading. P.S. this is my 14th year in remission! Yayyyy!
